PCB Design
We design your high-frequency PCBs starting from your schematic and BOM. We can even redesign your schematic using the latest PCB design software. We ensure all designs meet DFM (Design for Manufacturing) requirements, supporting through-hole, surface mount, or combined components. HDI or high-density interconnect designs are also supported.
We typically follow international standards for PCB design and any other standard you want us to follow. Furthermore, we design PCBs for through-hole components, surface mount components, or a combination of both. For your high-frequency PCBs, we also take up HDI or high-density interconnect designs. If your PCBs are small, we can panelize them to bring them up to standard size for fabrication.
Material Selection
We make our high-frequency PCBs of special materials to minimise dielectric losses. This allows them to operate with high-frequency and high-speed signals over long distances while maintaining proper signal integrity. Depending on the specific characteristics required for the PCB, we select the materials from Dupont, Panasonic, Nelco, Taconic, Rogers, Arlon, and Ventec.
PCB Fabrication
Based on your certified design and material selection, we fabricate your high-frequency PCB using the latest machinery. Types of High-Frequency PCBs
Depending on the requirement, we fabricate different types of high-frequency PCBs for our customers. Broadly, we manufacture the following types:
Microstrip PCBs
These PCBs consist of a copper trace on one side of the substrate with a ground plane on the other. In general, the copper trace is on the topmost or bottommost layer and is, therefore, exposed to air. Therefore, the copper trace has air as the dielectric on one side and the substrate on the other side, with the ground plane acting as the shield. We create microstrip PCBs for high-frequency applications up to about 10 GHz. They are simple PCBs and easy to fabricate.
Stripline PCBs
These PCBs are more complicated, with a conductive copper trace on one side of the substrate and a ground plane on the other. The copper trace has another substrate with a ground plane, such that it is completely sandwiched between the two ground planes. Therefore, the copper trace has the substrate as the dielectric on both sides, with the ground planes acting as effective shields, thereby reducing radiation. Our stripline PCBs are suitable for applications up to about 20 GHz.
CPW or Coplanar Waveguide PCBs
These PCBs are even more complicated. They are similar to stripline PCBs, with the exception that the copper trace has another ground layer surrounding it on the same layer. As the copper trace is now surrounded by ground layers on all sides, crosstalk is substantially reduced, and the signal remains entirely shielded. Our CPW PCBs are effective up to 40 GHz.
