What do you include in your turnkey quote?

We include cost of solder stencil, machine placement of SMCs, and manual insertion of THCs.

What are your work hours and "start" times?

Excluding holidays and weekends, our work hours are regular business days from 9am to 5pm.

How do you handle shortages?

When we notice a shortage, we have two options based on what you tell us. We can:

  1. notify you and wait until you ship us the part to complete the order,
  2. complete the order without that part.

Do you handle rework if I have a problem with my boards?

If you find an issue with our workmanship, within 90 days of order, we would be happy to evaluate and repair your assemblies, at no charge.

If I must send packages to Rush Pcb, how should I do it?

Please contact our sales team via email  so they can provide you reference number and address to ship the packages.

After finishing the build, what do you do with the leftover components?

After the assembly is over, we return all leftover components to the client along with the completed assemblies.

What is your optimum panel size?

Our optimum working panel size is roughly 12in x 18in, but we can handle up to 20in x 24in.

Do you have X-ray facility for BGAs?

In our standard process of assembly, we X-ray leadless ICs, BGAs, and other parts having leads that we cannot examine with a microscope.

Is silkscreen necessary for assembly?

It is preferred but Silkscreen is not necessary

Do you accept special instructions?

Include all Special instructions in PDF or Notepad format within Assembly Instructions at the time of submitting your order.

Why do you need Centroid data?

This is the machine placement file and should include:

  • X, Y, Theta
    • Side of Board (Top or Bottom)
    • Reference Designator

There will an additional charge if we generate file for you.

Can I include Digi-Key part numbers in my BOM?

Yes, you can include Digi-Key part numbers in your BOM.

What Gerber layers should I supply for assembly?

For assembly, we need the Silkscreen, Copper, and Solder paste files in the RS-274X (Gerber) format, but preferably send us all the Gerber files your CAD program generates.

How should I supply components?

Mark the same part number listed on your bill of materials clearly on each bag, tray, etc. Take care to protect the integrity of the components, and use proper sealing or static control packaging. Adhere to parts requirements for the assembly service you are using.

Can I use your existing inventory?

We do not carry any inventory.

How should I kit parts if I submit multiple orders at one time?

Send individual kit for each order. For sending multiple kits in a single package, mark each kit clearly, and identify the parts for mutual use on two or more jobs. For mutual parts, send 5% extra for each project.

What other services do you offer?

We offer three basic assembly services for Printed Circuit Boards — PCB Fabrication, Consigned Assembly, and Full Turnkey Services.

What are your requirements for assembly service?

For assembly services, we require blank PCBs, SMD and TH parts, Gerber files, and placement Data.

What data (files) are necessary for completing assembly orders?

CAD Data in Gerber including NC Excellon Drill file (ASCII format);

Bill of Materials (.xls, .xlsx, .csv, or tab-delimited text);

RS-274X Gerber files;

Centroid (aka Pick-and-Place) file.

What are the technical capabilities of Rush PCB?

Can you do PCB Layout also? Do you offer other technical services?

Yes, you may ask for a quote for layout by uploading your Schematic to sales@rushpcb.co.uk

Can you take up partial assembly?

Yes, we do partial assemblies. Please provide instructions in BOM *.xls file for the components you do not want placed. Mark them with the terms DNI (Do not Install) or DNL (Do not Load).

What other services do you handle other than Assembly?

We take up prototype box build and other mechanical assembly, as well as general electronics work. We also can do some crimp-based cable work & solder-based cable work. For mechanical assembly, we do require a sample, or specific assembly instructions. Please submit an RFQ or give us a call to discuss your needs.

Do you make panelized boards (sometimes called an array)?

Yes, we make panelized boards. Send us your instructions in the “Special Requirements / Comments for Assembly” box.

What standards and certifications do you follow?

RUSH PCB Inc is ISO 2001:9000, UL, ITAR & Cage Code certified;

For inspection, we follow IPC-A-610, Class II (We inspect for Class III upon request);

For RoHS, we comply with IPC-1066, finish category E1;

For moisture, we follow JDEC J-STD-033B.1 standard.

How do you handle part crossing or substitutions on turn-key jobs?

We do not substitute parts or cross the part numbers without customer’s approval.

How do you order components for Turn-Key orders?

Typically, we order your exact bill of material, plus overage.

What are your lead times on a turn-key order?

Rush PCB Ltd can produce boards from 48 hours to 5 days for prototypes to small production and 7-10 days for medium to large production.

Can you order only components, or just manufacturer the circuit board or just provide assembly labor service?

Yes, we can order components only; we can fabricate your circuit board; and we can provide assembly labor service only under our partial turn-key assembly services.

What is your minimum order size for turn-key orders?

We have no minimum order size; we can handle even 1 PCB.

What do you do with the remaining components on Turn-Key orders?

We return them to the customer along with the assembled PCBs.

How does Rush PCB Ltd. process the payment for a turn-key job?

We take an up-front payment as the cost of components or 50% of the order, whichever is greater. The balance is due at the time of shipment unless we have approved your company for Net terms.
